1950s Ivory Satin and Alençon Lace Gown

We've never been the kind to go all gaw-gaw over weddings. We weren't the 6th grader drawing sketches of wedding gowns in art class; we'd rather watch Elizabeth Taylor in 'Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolff' than 'Father of the Bride'; we didn't rise at the crack of dawn to catch the play-by-play of  Princess Diana's wedding. But show us a vintage wedding gown, and we start pining for a ceremony to renew our vows, and this one has green with envy.  Yards of ivory satin cascade from an illusion bodice of ecru beaded Alençon lace. It has a wide, scalloped bateau neckline, a modified empire style fitted waist, and closes in the back with 31 satin covered buttons and loops and a bow, then falls to a sweep train.. The sleeve has a row of  8 satin buttons and a wedding point over the hand. Tulle under layer. Bust 33", waist 22", sleeve 25", length 59" with a 12" train.  Bearing a Jessica of Pandora label, this gown  has a few smudges on the skirt, and a tear where a heel caught at the left hem where the train begins, otherwise in excellent condition. sold
