Hubby likes to refer to his failed relationships as 'the War(s)'. We think it's a little hostile, and figure he'll probably refer to this one as 'Armageddon' if it ever goes sour. You just need to let some things go, and discovered many years ago that writing is a very good purgative for releasing 'emotional junk'. One especially amusing (at least now) journal was kept during the planning of our first wedding. 'Wedding Nightmares' was actually a dream log that began almost the very night we agreed to the proposal. We know now, and actually knew then, that getting married to that person was a huge mistake. But somehow we divested ourselves of authority in our own life and got dragged, kicking and screaming, to the alter. One day when shopping for the gown, we were shanghaied to the Laura Ashley boutique. The dresses were beautiful - simple cotton frocks you could actually wear after your wedding day - not glitzy, not staid, and not cheap. In retrospect, we should've bought the Laura Ashley - an English country wedding theme would have been perfect, and we probably would still have that dress, if not the guy. So if you're dreaming of looking like you stepped out of a Jane Austen novel on your Big Day, this is your dress. In pure white cotton, this dress is all ruffles and bows, with a boned basque bodice, a wide and deep squared neckline, and full, gathered elbow length sleeves. Dips low to mid-back, with a zippered closure at the back. We couldn't zip it up all the way on our dress form - you'll just have to imagine what it looks like fully zipped. Unless you're naturally wasp-waisted, you're going to need corseting help. Max measurements are: Bust is 31", under bust 26", waist 24", length 57". Made in Great Britain and in excellent condition. Don't make the same mistake we did, marry when you know it's right and buy the dress you really want. $495
