1940s Black Wool Skirt Suit

Not your run of the mill black power suit, though that is not at all to say that this suit isn't powerful.  Au contraire, mon amie.  There is an undeniable aura surrounding a suit of this ilk. There's the totally feminine cut, the supple wool crepe fabric, and the kind of detailing that you just don't see on suits, (or any other off the rack clothing, for that matter) - today.  We're talking hand finished seams, a tailored pleat at the shoulder for ease, bound buttonholes with self covered buttons, a buttoned tab faux pocket at the hip, and the piece de resistance - a subtle trapunto bas relief embellishment surrounding the welted slit breast pocket. You may not be at the top of that ladder yet, but trust us, when you walk into the office wearing this, no one is going to doubt who's calling the shots - now that's power. The sleeves have a turned back cuff. The skirt is a straight cut with a side zip closure and has two inverted vees cut at the hem.  The jacket is fully lined, the skirt is unlined.  Bearing a Friedmont label, both pieces are in excellent condition.  Jacket measures  bust 38", waist 32", hip 36", shoulder 15.5", sleeve 21" cuffed, 23" without cuff, length 21". Skirt waist is 28", hip 38", length 30".  $445
