1960s Blue Wool Knit Suit

With all due respect to Marie Grey's St. John, we have to believe that little compares to the knits from British Hong Kong in the 1960s. This fabulous three-piece skirt suit is done in a robin's egg blue wool.  The straight skirt and sleeveless shell are flat knit, the skirt having a side zip closure and a bar hook on the flat elastic waistband. The shell has a zipper at the back of the neck. The single breasted jacket is accented with off-white horizontal stripes across the upper bodice, hip and sleeve cuff. The body of the jacket is a ribbed knit, the sleeve and collar are the same flat knit as the skirt and shell.  With a pert little rounded collar, and cute little tri-colored plastic buttons, this sleek suit has a classic style in an anything- but-classic color.  The beauty of this suit, aside from the obvious quality, cut and color, is that it breaks up into great separates, too.  A Designer Knit by Richard Stevens, it was made in British Hong Kong.  All pieces are unlined and in excellent condition.  Jacket measures:  Bust 37", waist 35", hip 38", shoulder 15.5",sleeve 23", length 24.5".  Skirt waist 28", hip 36", length 24".  Shell bust 36", hip 36", shoulder 15.5", length 22". sold.
