1970s Betty Hanson Wool Suit

A legendary figure in the garment industry, Betty Hanson knew a thing or two about design, having been an executive at the company of her friend Anne Klein before launching her own sportswear company in the mid-1970s.  In a black and white wool tweed, this suit has a gentried-country thing going on with details like a double breasted jacket in a longer cut, with a softly gathered shoulder, a single patch pockets at the breast and one at either hip, and faux woven buttons, both in front and at the split sleeve cuff. The A-line skirt is a no-waistband style with a back zip closure. It features two small inverted pleats in front, side seam hip pockets, a 13" vent in front and narrow belt loops set just below the waist.  We are showing the skirt with our black alligator belt, available separately - a narrow black patent belt would work nicely, too. Both pieces are fully lined and in excellent condition. Jacket bust measures 36", waist 36", hip 40", shoulder 15", sleeve 24", length 30".  Skirt waist 29", hip 42", length 30". $125
