1970s Yves Saint Laurent Mulberry Chalkstriped Wool Suit

We're forever impressed with the way Yves Saint Laurent turned mens wear  into something totally and uniquely feminine. Here Saint Laurent has designed a double breasted wool suit (a style which in itself could prove dangerously masculine from almost anyone but Saint Laurent), in a pale brown heathered with mauve pink that actually appears mulberry, with a tan chalkstripe running through it. Traditional mens wear details include a longer cut, notched lapel, a welted besom pocket above the left breast, and a flap pocket over either hip, and a trio of buttons at the cuff of the split sleeve.  The skirt is double pleated, but retains a slim, straight line.  Closes at the side with a zipper and a hook at the waistband.  Both pieces are fully lined and in excellent condition.
