1970s Yves Saint Laurent Ivory Wool Suit

Although 'Le Smoking' jacket or peasant look are styles that often come immediately to mind, Yves Saint Laurent was consistently dead-on in his designs, turning out one fabulous creation after another. That's one of the reasons Saint Laurent's clothes have remained so timeless, especially his suits.  In  French vanilla colored wool gabardine, this single-breasted suit is a fine example of that appeal. The jacket features a fabulously feminine nipped-in waist and gathered shoulder. The skirt is slim and flat, with a tulip edged faux wrap front and a dropped hip, and a  zippered closure on the side. We like this worn with a silk crepe bow blouse in the traditional St. Laurent mode. Made for Rive Gauche, both pieces are lined in ivory and in excellent condition. Jacket measures:  Bust 36", waist 31", hip 37", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", sleeve 23", length 23".  Skirt measures:  waist 25", hip 36", length 26".  $275
