1980s Carolyn Roehm Lilac Wool Suit |

We like to put Carolyn Roehm into that niche of society designer, who, like Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta, designed clothing for the uppercrust crowd they ran with. Not surprisingly, Roehm's early designs were for de la Renta's ultra girly 'Miss O' line in the mid 1970s to 1980s. And, like other designers of the social order, she designed clothing for women to show off and be shown off in. Clothes that women feel pretty and alluring in, and that men like to have on their arm, so to speak. It's true - men love women in Carolyn Roehm, and this suit is sure to make 'em drool. A captivating confection, simply styled in a sumptuous lilac colored wool and silk fabric, with a curvy, collar-less jacket and a straight pencil skirt. The jacket closes with a single matte gold button at the waist, but also has two hidden hooks at the bust for those more modest. Sleeve cuffs are also accented with a single button. Welted flap pockets at either hip are the only addition to an otherwise clean line. The skirt is a no-waistband style, with a side zipper. Jacket measures bust: 36"; waist 30"; hip 36", shoulder 16.5"; sleeve 22", length 25". skirt measures waist 29"; hip 35"; length 23". Both pieces are fully lined in a pale lavender silk and are in excellent condition. sold
