1950s Gold Silk Douppioni Suit

Everyone has a certain era that is comfortably identifiable for them. Ours is the 1950’s - not because we grew up during that time, but because we grew up watching the movies of that time. Audrey, Grace, Liz, - those are the icons we remember, and the clothes of that era were every bit as elegant as the women who wore them. This little skirt suit is all about that special feminine elegance. A regal custom piece (probably Hong Kong) created in a shimmery kanchi silk duoppioni in an oversized East Indian foulard print in orange, green and brown on a deep gold background   The hip length jacket has bracelet length sleeves and a piped jewel neckline. It closes with two oversized knotted buttons at the bust and waist, and a snap at the neck and hem. A darling piped bow accents the center front. The pencil skirt has a side zipper and hook at the waistband. Jacket measures Bust 34", waist 30", hip 35", shoulder 15", sleeve 20", length 22".  Skirt measures waist 25", hip 36", length 25". Both pieces are fully lined in chartreuse silk crepe de chine and in excellent condition. $165
