Emanuel Ungaro’s designs from the 1980s are
nearly iconic, and we think this skirt suit neatly nails the style
consciousness of the 1980s. In a black and white birdseye woven wool,
the cropped blouson jacket is constructed in a modified wrap style with
an attached scarf that tosses over the left shoulder. The shoulder is
padded and extended, with a dropped dolman sleeve accented with
triple buttons at the cuff. Jacket closes with a hidden button at the
right shoulder and two buttons at the waistband, The back of the jacket
has a soft pleat on either side of the back waist, and a pair of buttons
at either side of the waistband.. The skirt has an extended pocket at
each hip, but is otherwise straight and slim with a back zip and vent.
Made for Ungaro’s Parallele line, both pieces are fully lined and in
excellent condition. Jacket measures: Bust 40", waist
26", shoulder 16", sleeve 21.5". Skirt
measures: Waist 25", hip 37", length 28". Though
the jacket is a blouson and pretty roomy, we think this works best on
about a modern size 6 or slim 8. $330
