1970s Lanvin Multi Print Cotton Skirt Suit

We have a great admiration for classically chic women like the late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, who looked amazing in simple, minimalist styles in neutral palettes. Like it or not, our eye always tends to go to the vibrant and colorful things. When we try to tone down the vibe of the stuff accumulating in our clothes closet, we just end up looking funereal. Like a fish after a spinning lure, we keep going back to the stuff that's colorful, jeweled, spangled, sparkly, or, as some may so unkindly suggest - gaudy.  This vintage Lanvin suit is just the kind of bait to make us strike. Cotton pique fabric is printed in a beautiful geometric and floral print in the splendid and vivid colors of nature.  The double breasted jacket is close fitted, with white buttons and bound buttonholes, large patch pockets sit at either hip, and a trio of buttons at the sleeve cuff.  The slim cut skirt is styled as a faux wrap, with a seam running the length of the skirt left of center, ending in a  13" vent at the hem.  Both pieces are fully lined,  and in excellent condition.  Also bears a Saks Fifth Avenue label.  The jacket measures 36" at the bust, 32" at the waist, 36" at the hip,  16" across the shoulder, sleeve length is 23.5", length is 26" from collar to hem. The skirt waist is 26", hip 37", length 28".  $295
