1960s Lanvin Pant Suit

 

 

 


Jules-Francois Crahay succeeded Antonio del Castillo as the designer at Lanvin, creating a very distinctive look for the house for twenty years. An amazing safari style pant suit constructed from polyester crepe (washable, no less), in shades of coral, black putty-green and taupey-olive in an amazing op art geometric print.  The shirt jacket has a curved, split hem, and a row of self covered buttons up the front with another pair of button at the French cuff on the sleeve. A wide sash belt cinches the waist. The pants have wide legs and an elasticized waist.  Bust is 36", shoulder is 16", sleeve is 22.5", length 29". The pants have a 26" to 28" waist and 31.5" inseam with a 41.5" outseam. There is a thread pull to the right of the third button (2nd to last photo, below) and another on the left shoulder (last photo, below) - barely visible, but that's all that keep this from being flawless. $495
