Halston was a genius at taking otherwise ordinary fabrics like
Ultra suede and matte jersey, and creating something extraordinary from
them. When Halston decided to apply his craft to beaded pieces in
the late 'Seventies, he exacted the same perfectionism and attention to
minutia that he applied to every single thing he put his hand to. A
couple of years and thousands and thousands of dollars worth botched
samples later - the embroidery manufacturer in India finally got the
beaded designs the way Halston
wanted them. This ensemble, is one such example of the exquisite
quality of Halston's bead work. Gold and silver tube beads are meticulously
embroidered on black silk chiffon in Halston's iconic fireworks pattern.
The pants are self in lined in black silk chiffon and have an
elasticized waist band. The halter top is also self lined and closes at
the back of the neck and waist with a hook and eye. The jacket is an
open style cardigan, and is unlined and sheer. The pants measures 26" at
the waist, 40" at the hip, with a 30" inseam. The halter top measures
28" at the waist, and will fit a bust up to 37", and is 18" long from
the shoulder to the waist. The jacket has a 38" bust, waist and
hip, is 29" long, and measures 32" from the center back to the end of
the sleeve. All three pieces are in excellent condition. sold
