1960s Pink Shell and Skirt - size 6/8

If you have a chance to read A Thousand Days of Magic - Oleg Cassini's memoir of designing for Jacqueline Kennedy while she was First Lady-the one constant you see on page after page of photographs of Jackie in Cassini's designs - is that no matter what the occasion, she always managed to look elegant, poised and cool - particularly in comparison to the unfortunate women who had the dubious 'honor' of being photographed with her. Jackie made sleeveless chic, and this ensemble is so very much of that effortless yet sophisticated look that Jackie perfected. In a heathered carnation pink boucle knit, the  shell is sleeveless, with a zipper closure down the back, and a leaf motif ribbon trim running on the diagonal from the right shoulder down to the left hip. The skirt is straight and slim with a side zipper closure, and a button on the waistband and is fully lined. The knit has a bit of stretch to it, but you should be very close to these measurements: Shell measures - bust 36", waist/hip 34", shoulder 15", length 18". Skirt waist is  24" 25", hip 36", length 23" with a 2 1/2" hem.  Made by Apollo of New York, both pieces are in excellent condition. $165
