1950s Silk Shantung Capri Pants

The island of Capri on the Italian Riviera must have been one heckuva holiday resort back in it's heyday. Long a vacation locale of choice for aristocrats, nouveau-riche society, and social misfits alike, Capri has hosted everyone from the Marchese Casati to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Among the gems Capri has produced are Emilio Pucci's boutique on the Canzone del Mare, and those cute little tapered cropped slacks known as capri's.  The perfect Spring and Summer slack, they are chic while looking casual.  The capri's we offer here are fashioned in a chartreuse silk shantung, and fairly epitomize the refined casual elegance that both the isle and its namesake are all about. Flat front, no-waistband style, they close with a side zipper and button and tab closure. A vintage size 16, which translates to a modern size size 10, the waist measures 30", hip 40", inseam 26". Fully lined in tan silk, they carry an I.Magnin and Co. label, and except for a pinhole at the front waist, in otherwise excellent condition. $85
