1970s Embroidered Navy Wrap Skirt

Your favorite grandma was forever lovingly making the dorkiest of clothes for you.  Like the time she pulled out the Simplicity wrap skirt pattern, and when she asked what you'd like embroidered on the front of it, you said, "Gee, Grandma, I don't know, how about ... mushrooms? (sniggle, sniggle). Not that you actually ever would have worn a skirt adorned with mushrooms, but the thought of Grandma naively embroidering mushrooms on your skirt was just too funny to pass up. Never one to ever do anything half-assed, Granny painstakingly embellished the skirt with the requested mushrooms - and turtles, butterflies and flowers - thus effectively blowing your chance to waltz into first period class flaunting 'shrooms on your body. If you'd had a drop of style, you would have donned the damned thing with a crop top and platform espadrilles, and flaunted your sophisticated coolness to the entire Sophomore class. Instead you stuffed the skirt in the back of the closet where it languished, unworn and unappreciated for years until you finally got rid of it. Well, now you have the chance to redeem yourself and make poor Granny proud. Embroidered on the front in various shades of blue and green yarn on a navy poplin skirt, you can still wear it with the crop top and espadrilles, or a shrunken cashmere tee and flats - either way, you're going to look great and wonder why in the world you didn't have this kind of style in high school, when it mattered most. This wrap is best on hips no larger than 36" to avoid embarrassing gapping in the rear.  Accommodating a waist of up to 27" with a length of 25.5", it is in excellent, if not unworn (maybe it actually has languished in the closet for thirty years) condition.  $75
