1980s Issey Miyake Top and Pants

The original sensei of origami couture, Issey Miyake created clothes that drape and caress the body without sacrificing structure. Like many of his designs, this ensemble has a relaxed, fluid line,  enfolding without overwhelming the body.  The fabric is a light, woven black cotton with a white pinstripe. The shirt is oversized with an angular shirttail cut hem, an extended shoulder line and short sleeves, with a single breast pocket and three button closure down the front.  The pants have have a stitched down single pleat, with welted inseam pockets at the hip.  The leg is full with a slightly cropped profile.  Worn together these pieces are sublime, but they will also pair with other separates well. Shirt measures bust to 56", hip to54", shoulder 22", 9" sleeve, 27" length.  The pants have a waist of 27", hip to 44", 27.5" inseam,12" rise The waistband of the pants have been professionally let out at the back, which is of course, not visible with the shirt worn over it, (see last photo), otherwise, both pieces are in excellent condition. $295
