One of the designers of the 'Belgium invasion' of the mid 1980s whose deconstructionist designs have been compared to Japanese designers like Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto, Ann Demeulmester's cutting edge designs have always displayed an attention to detail, proportion and balance that sets her apart from the rest, and thus her clothes tend to be more wearable for a broader range of figures than those of most other avante-garde designers. A classic wrap style tunic in black satin backed acetate/viscose crepe, it features a tapered batwing sleeve and a shawl collar that sits a tad higher at the back of the neck. Being a wrap style, the measurements are somewhat adjustable with a bust up to 42", waist 38", hip 38", shoulder 18", sleeve 22", length 33". Probably best on no larger than a modern size 6, the tunic also carries an Ann Taylor boutique label (what?), and is in excellent condition. sold
