1970s Seersucker Plaid Maxi Skirt

The Maxi - where would we be without it?  Today, due to mass marketing of certain feminine protection products, it has a somewhat dubious connotation.  But make no mistake, the maxi skirt was a hallmark of femininity, a staple of the 'wardrobe', if one could call it that, of our freedom-loving, free-loving  hippie sisters. We believe the maxi skirt still holds a place of honor in a wardrobe. A terrific alternative to a pair of pants, a long skirt signals that you're in touch with your feminine side, you're just not a slave to it.  Thigh high mini dresses?  Suggests your ready to swoon to the half-assed come-on of any good-looking six-pack that comes your way for the evening. On the flip side, we think a maxi skirt says that you're confident in your own skin, not taken in by passing trends, and able to hold your own with a man. The fact that this particular skirt only buttons to the knee only emphasizes the girl power vibe - meaning that you can flash a little skin if you're so inclined.  A madras plaid cotton seersucker in pink, purple, golden yellow, orange and white, it pairs perfectly with a spare little white top for Summer, and still deniably states that you are your own babe, not some stud's. Made by Fritzi of California, the waist is 30", hip 41", length 41". Excellent condition. $75
