1940s Saks Fifth Avenue Black Silk Bolero

The mighty little bolero.  Such a clever little design - short, sweet and Spanish by heritage, the bolero has been featured in every style of fashion from evening wear to western wear.  This version is a sleeveless vest bolero in a supple woven raw silk, it is slightly gathered below the bust, and has two satin frog closures at the ribcage. A fabulous alternative to  a jacket with high waist, full legged pants and a little silk blouse.  Lined in a black polka dot pattern on white silk crepe, it carries a Saks Fifth Avenue label and is in excellent condition.
