Bonnie Cashin had so many winning chapters in her career, its impossible to say which was her defining one. Whether designing sportswear for Phillip Sills, or leather for Coach, Cashin's designs were always innovative, cutting edge, and light years ahead of their time. When Cashin was tapped to design for Ballantyne, she developed some amazing and totally unique patterns for their knits, and promoted the use of intarsia machines to hand work the intricate patterns she created in cashmere. This 3 piece ensemble in geranium pink cashmere consists of a solid skirt and cardigan, with a pink and ivory striped short sleeved shell, and is awesomely beautiful. A long sleeved, v-neck cardigan buttons up the front with gold toned crest-of-arms buttons, the shell is a pull on style, with ribbing at the waist as well as on the cute little turned-back cuff at the sleeve. The skirt has an invisible side zip closure with hook and eye closures at the waistband, and is fully lined in cerise silk crepe de chine. Made by Bonnie Cashin for Ballantyne of Peebles, all three pieces are in excellent condition. Also has a Triningham of Bermuda label. All measurements are flat, unstretched - Shell measures bust 40", waist 35", shoulder 15", sleeve 6", length 22". Cardigan bust 38", waist 32", shoulder 15", sleeve 24", length 25". Skirt waist is 28", hip 38", length 25", $395
