André Courrèges became known as the 'Space Age' designer because of his functional, futuristic designs. Courrèges continued to hold to that theme, and even during the 1980s, the height of excessiveness in fashion, Courrèges' designs were fresh. This jacket is a hybrid of Michael Jackson's Thriller jacket and an aviator's flight jacket. The clean line and uncluttered cut echo Courrèges affinity for the uniform, military or otherwise. The lightweight poly/linen blend poplin fabric is crisp in a deep tomato red. The jacket has pleats over the shoulder and at the waist into a wide waistband, which has adjustable tabs with plastic ring buckles. Has a full length zippered closure in front, with a buttoned stand-up collar. Faux welted pockets ride at the chest, and the sleeves have buttoned cuffs. Fully lined in red acetate and in excellent condition. Smart over khaki flat front trousers with a white cotton t-shirt. Bust 38", waist 38" (cinches in), shoulder 17.5", sleeve 22", length 21". $145
