1970s Missoni Long Sweater Coat

Though Missoni's reputation is every bit as strong today as it was 30 years ago,  you'll forgive us if we prefer Missoni from the 1970s and '80s. We can admire their newer stuff as modeled on the pages of Vogue and W, but we certainly can't wear it. The Missoni of old is unmistakably Missoni, but the knits are a little more substantial, a little less slinky, and infinitely more flattering to most figures.  This wool and cotton cardigan/sweater/coat  is just the kind of thing we're talking about. Knit in diagonal stripes of purple, red, jade green and gold between bands of black, it is an open front style, with a single tie closure at the neck and a tie at each gathered sleeve cuff.  Has a dolman sleeve without shoulder seams, and huge pockets at the hip.  Best on a modern 12-14, the bust measures 42", waist 40", hip 40", sleeve 21", length 40".Also carries a Saks Fifth Avenue label, and in excellent condition. sold
