Art Deco Sterling Silver Perfume Pendant

The Twenties were a time of great social change for the fairer sex. By August of 1920, women had won the right to vote, with an emotionally liberating effect. Long hair was bobbed, girdles were discarded, dresses were shortened, and speakeasies were the place to play. The long, lean dress lines were the perfect foil for dainty little personal items worn about the neck to keep the hands free to hold a drink and a cigarette.  This delicate little sterling perfume pendant is suspended from a black slider cord. The bottle itself is etched and engraved with a floral motif, with a chain tassel at the bottom and a screw-off stopper.  The cord hangs about 15" and nestles right between the breasts. The bottle is 1 3/4" long with another 1" of tassel, and about 5/8" wide at the widest, and a mere 1/8" on edge. Hallmarked 'sterling' on the top of the stopper. We'd fill the flask with 'Fracas', slip it on with a black silk charmeuse blouse unbuttoned just low enough to show it off.  $155
