1940s Black Sheared Rabbit Fur Muff

Muffs enjoyed a revival during the '30's and '40s. Today we may look at them as little fur extra accoutrements, but back in the days before heated transportation, when you either walked to your destination or rode in a chilly auto or carriage, they were a  a practical thing to have to keep your hands from feeling frostbitten. This black French rabbit muff, is lined in black silk satin, and has a zipper on the top which opens to an interior  compartment wherewith to store your evening 'necessities', complete with a tiny coin purse and two slip pockets, one of which is pleated to expand. The muff measures about 10" long and 9" deep. Excellent condition. $215
