1960s Oleg Cassini Yellow Voile Beach Jacket

There are a few books in our vintage clothing reference library that we never tire of pouring over - those on vintage swimwear.  It never ceases to amaze us how 'far' (is that the right word?) we've come when it comes to what we wear to the pool or beach, and all it takes is about 5 minutes into one of those books to make us yen for the days when women oozed sex appeal and style while remaining pretty much covered up. Take the beach jacket - a perfectly practical solution of what to wear over your swimsuit when your best asset is below your, well - ass. This one is a Sun Blazer, designed by Oleg Cassini for Peter Pan in a lightweight yellow voile, trimmed in black.  Styled like a man's shirt with little square buttons up the front and a shirt tail hem, it features a Peter Pan collar, a tiny patch pocket at the left hip, and buttoned french cuffs on the sleeve. Perfect over a black or white maillot with wedge heeled espadrilles. Has a pinhole near the lower left hem, otherwise in excellent condition. Bust 38", hip to 40", shoulder 16", sleeve 22", length 25". $65
