1960s Tropical Print 3-Piece Short Set

This has got to be one of our all-time favorite pieces.  An absolutely adorable short set consisting in a raging tropical floral print in avocado, acid and lime greens, with some harvest gold, mustard yellow, apricot and white thrown in, all boldly standing against a chartreuse background.  The shorts sit at the natural waistline, which means most of the abdomen is going to be covered.  Flat front with a back zip, so no added bulk over the tummy, thank you. Cut very short, they have a inner panty in the same fabric to prevent peek-a-booty. Paired with the shorts is a little bra top with a pleated and boned soft cup, ruched elasticised sides, and an adjustable buttoned closure in the back. And to top the whole thing off is a fabulous little over blouse/cover-up with a three-quarter, belled raglan sleeve. With a simple scooped neckline and buttons all the way up the front, it hits right about hip level and has inseam pockets at the hip. What's fabulous about this set is that you don't have the body of a showgirl on vacation in Cancun to look good in it. A nice tan and a pair of sandals is really all you need.  Made in Hawaii for Andrade and fabricated in a very lightweight poly crepe, all three pieces are in excellent condition.  Shorts measure waist 27"; hips 37"; rise 29".  Bra top is a solid modern 34B with an extra 2" gained around the chest (not the cup) by buttoning just one of the buttons instead of both. Cover-up measures:  Bust 36"; hip 38"; shoulder 15"; sleeve 13.5"; length 26". $135
