1950s Turquoise Chinese Pagoda Robe

Long before Feng Shui came to Western culture, our grandparents collected Chinese antiques and that love of Orientalia was passed to us. Unconsciously we surrounded ourselves with objects that created a reassuring atmosphere of longevity, tranquility and harmony. Whether or not you buy the Feng Shui thing, we do believe there is something very nurturing about wrapping yourself in a beautiful, vintage Chinese embroidered silky rayon satin robe. This one has pagodas, sampans/pole boats and plum-tree blossoms in colors of pink, red, gold, green and black woven on a turquoise background. Dropped kimono sleeve, patch hip pockets and a tie belt. Best on no larger than a modern solid size 6.Bust measures 36", hip 38, length 47", inner sleeve length 11".  Excellent condition. $110
