1960s Decoupage Wooden Box Bag/Vanity Case

Absolutely adorable, this octagon-shaped vanity case/hand bag is fashioned in wood, then decoupaged in a muted pastoral woods scene with orange California, red Iceland poppies, ferns and Monarch butterflies. The top is hinged at the back, with a ball clasp closure in front, and a hinged plastic handle on the top of the bag.  The interior is lined in quilted brown fabric, with a small oval mirror on the inside of the lid embellished with rickrack and a tiny silver butterfly and signed by the artist.  The bag rests on a felt bottom and four tiny brass feet.  Measuring 9" wide, 6" high and 6" deep, this cutie is well done and truly one-of-a-kind. and, except for some very, very minor wear on the hardware, is in mint condition.  sold
