1960s Orange Wicker Handbag |

We know we must be aging, as all those colors we thought were so hideous in our youth (well, we're not THAT old) really appeal to us now. And the brighter the better. We remember in the late '60s, grandma used to crochet and knit long vests (the kind you wore over hot-pants) in these god-awful neon colors. How we wish we had them now, and not just for the sentimental value, either. So you'll have to excuse us if we shy away from carrying the typical black bag anymore - give us turquoise, fuschia, brilliant yellow and - orange. Yes, this is one of our favorites, one we sadly realize is a tad too small for smuggling a sandwich and a bag of Sees truffles into the movies. But we' know it's perfect for a gal who doesn't feel the need to cram the pantry in her bag, 'just in case'. Orange vinyl wicker is woven into a tidy little handbag, accented with orange leather handle straps, a strap and turnlock closure, and hinged on the bottom with orange leather straps - all attached to the bag with brass studs. The interior is lined in muslin, with a single slip pocket. Bag measures 7" wide at the top, 9" wide at the widest part, and sits 6.5" high with a 5" drop on the handles. Gee, maybe it's not all that small after all. Made in Hong, excellent condition. $110
