1970s Anne Klein/Donna Karan Red Wool Dress |
||
|
|
The Anne Klein designs from the late 1970s and early
1980s carry the strong cache of Donna Karan, who designed for the label
from the 1970s until the mid 1980s. Not that the two labels are
indistinct from each other, but you can see by the design of this dress
they bear a lot of similarities. The matte gold-toned buttons, for
example, are very sculptural, like jewelry, because Robert Lee Morris
was casting the accessories for the line at the time. In a beautiful red
wool knit, the dress has a rounded shoulder and squared-off bodice
with a shawl collar, princess contoured seaming, welted pockets at the
side seam, and four large comma shaped buttons down the front.
Measurements are: bust 35", waist 32", hip 35" shoulder 16.5", sleeve
23.5", total length 38". Fully lined and in excellent condition. $225
