Vintage Red Silk Velvet Gown and Bolero

A spectacular dress for the holidays or special occasion, this long gown is stunning in a deep, rich, blood red velvet.  Hand tailored and designed to be worn together, the gown is really a long, slim, sleeveless sheath created by attaching the slim velvet skirt to a red silk bodice. With graceful inverted pleating in front, the sheath/skirt is beautiful in its own right, but the show stopper of this ensemble is truly the bolero.  Simply styled with a jewel neckline, the elbow length sleeves are heavily beaded with jet black and red faceted beads as well as a beaded fringe at the sleeve hem.  Lined in red satin, it closes with a zipper in back.  The sheath also has a back zippered closure, two deep rear kick pleats, and is lined in an irridescent red organza.  Except for scattered pinholes in the silk bodice of the sheath, a bead missing at the shoulder (see last photo below) and scattered flecks on the velvet, the condition is very good to excellent.
