1950s Black Satin Cocktail Dress

It doesn't seem to matter which decade you choose, the little black dress defies time and lives on through different incarnations.  This black cocktail dress is so sweet it almost makes your teeth ache.  In a lustrous and weighty black satin, the style is very fitted through the bodice with a semi-empire waist and a very wide waist band. It features a very flattering squared neckline, short sleeves and closes in the back with a zipper. The skirt is full and pleated into the waistband, and has an attached net crinoline for shape.  But the cherry on this little confection is the satin camellia on the front of the waist band.  Except for a tiny pinhole on the inside facing of the neckline, otherwise the condition is  excellent. Bust 32", waist 24", hip 35", shoulder 15", sleeve 5", total length  40". (Photos have been lighted to show the detail of the dress) $165
