1950s Taupe Dress with Lace Applique

 

 

 

In a supple, slubbed fabric that resembles raw silk, this taupe dress features a deeply cut batwing sleeve, cut as part of the bodice, with an inverted v-shaped empire waist, accented with a wide band of lace applique.  The back has a caped shoulder effect, split down the center back, with a bow at the nape of the neck covering the hook and eye closure. Back zippered closure.    Bust measures 37", waist 27", hip 37", sleeve (center back to end of sleeve) 26", length 47".Bears a Paul Sachs Original label, and in excellent condition.
