We're not sure if the
word 'posh' originated in Britain, but it aptly describes this beautiful black
velvet sheath dress by Janice Wainwright. A swirly, stripey
burned-out pattern gives an elegant frock a decidedly exotic aura. The body of the dress is lined in black
silk satin, so the sheerness
of the pattern is only visible on the sleeves. Straight cut, it
slips over the head, the only closures being a covered snap at the
neck and a button and loop closure at the left collarbone. A high,
almost Victorian neckline drapes in a soft fold from the
collar, narrowing as it descends to the hem.
A modified batwing long sleeve is deeply cut at the slightly dropped
shoulder, tapering to the wrist with a single button at the cuff.
The fabric composition is rayon, silk and lurex, with the hem and sleeve cuff
bound in black
silk. Also carries a Giorgio of Beverly Hills boutique label, and
is in excellent condition. Bust 37", waist 37", hip
38", shoulder 18", sleeve 24", length
44". $320
