1970s Halston Cherry Red Ultra suede Shirt Dress

At the peak of his game, Roy Halston Frowick could set a trend with a nod of his head. His designs were a chic combination of simplicity of style and  luxuriant fabrics, and as Halston designed clothing with an intent to make women look good no matter what body type they bore, he developed a loyal and worshipful  following. One of Halston's early mediums was using Ultra suede. An otherwise unpretentious fabric, under Halston's hand it became chic and stylish.  In cherry red Ultra suede, this is Halston's signature shirt dress, buttoning from collar to knee, with a buttoned sleeve cuff, inseam hip pockets and finished with a sash belt.  A sublime study in Halston minimalism.
