We freely admit our photographic skills leave something to be desired, and thus unfortunately our photos below don't capture the true color of this dress - which is a deep, dark forest green - so dark it almost appears black. But despite what your eyes may be telling you, it's not black, it's dark green. As such, the dark green silk velvet is the perfect foil for the vivid magenta in the plaid of the sequined skirt, and makes the dress really, well, festive. The bodice is simple and unadorned, with a scooped neckline and tapered long sleeves that have an invisible zipper closure at the sleeve cuff. A matching leather backed velvet belt defines the waist. The skirt is de la Renta's take on the Scottish kilt - a plaid in magenta, emerald green and black sequins and white, red, green, gold and black tube beads - cut straight from the waist through the hip, then finished with an 8" deep pleated hem of black silk chiffon embellished with stripes of sequins to give it a swingy, car wash effect from the thigh to the knee.. Back zip closure. The bust measures 36", waist 26", hip 37", shoulder 14", sleeve 24", length from shoulder to hem is 35".Belt is 1 1/2" wide with eyelets spaced between 27" and 30", and a hole punched in it at 26". Aside from some rubbing at the waist of the dress from the belt (not visible when the belt is worn) and the aforementioned do-it-yourself hole in the belt, the dress is in excellent condition. The sequin and beading treatment on this baby is nothing short of amazing. Lined in an emerald green silk crepe de chine, it also bears a Saks Fifth Avenue label along with the de la Renta label. $585
