We love a good animal print. But the thing is, not many of them are that flattering to wear. You run the risk of looking more like Cher's Laverne character than a doyenne of Madison Ave. Not so with this gorgeous long gown by Anne Fogarty. The zebra pattern is subtle, and more abstract than animal, and beautifully balanced by the wide swatches of black at the shoulder and hem. In a sheer bird's eye cotton pique voile, the sleeveless, fitted bodice has a high cut neckline and nips in at the waist then released into a full, gathered long skirt. Anne has thoughtfully placed the contrasting line in the pattern so that it follows the princess seaming of the bodice. Though the fabric is cotton, don't be fooled - this dress is no slouch and would do just fine at any black and white ball, thank you. The white of the stripe is more off-white than pure white, so the contrast isn't jarring. The gown is fully lined, has a back zip closure and carries a label from the Anne Fogarty Room at Lord and Taylor. Bust measures 33", waist 23.5", shoulder 14.5", length 56". The dress has a few light brown stains at the back, just below the waist, which tend to get lost in the gathers, otherwise in excellent condition. $335
