Unless you spent the early Seventies completely stoned or otherwise disengaged, you probably remember the anti-fashion, back-to-nature, hippie-influenced fashions of the era. Softer palettes and subdued prints replaced the wild, bold designs of the late Sixties. This beautiful chiffon dress is indicative of that 'rich hippie' look we remember and love. A tabard style over-dress in yellow silk chiffon with a floral print in red-orange, pink, green and brown and white floats over, but is attached to, a sleeveless sheath beneath with a pale yellow chiffon bodice and a skirt in purple chiffon with a different, but coordinating flower print in yellow, orange, white and green. The bodice has a deep v neckline, with a wide kimono sleeve, is gathered at the waist, and the over dress is slit up either side to the waist. Back zipper closure and a detached grosgrain ribbon at the waist. The bust measures 40", waist 30", hip 44", shoulder 18", sleeve 22", length 59". Designed by Oscar de la Renta Boutique, it is in excellent condition. sold
