1980s Angelo Tarlazzi Silk Sarong Dress |

Angelo Tarlazzi's silhouette in the eighties was all about the hips. Like the seduction of a flamenco dancer, the vibe of this little number is heat, attraction and sex. A sarong style in bias cut silk crepe de chine, printed in a vivid confetti print, the dress twists and ties at the top of the left shoulder, a row of covered buttons and loops snake down the left side, with a slit at the hip that ties closed. The effect of this treatment is a little peek-a-boo. Not quite the same degree as Elizabeth Hurley in the safety pinned Versace, but it definitely highlights that area. From the left hip, the dress cascades in an asymmetrical ruffled treatment to the hem. An amazing, jaw-dropping beautiful dress, made in France by Angelo Tarlazzi, and in excellent condition. The bias cut makes it difficult to accurately measure. The tag indicates a European size 38, and we're showing it on a dress form with static measurements of bust 37", waist 27", hip 37" - and though Tarlazzi intended his dresses to be worn sausage tight, you'd be hard pressed to squeeze anything bigger into this dress. Length from under the arm to the longest point of the hem is 34". Made in France and in excellent condition $375
