1980s Krizia Plissé Black Dress

When Mariuccia Mandelli founded Krizia in 1954,  she named her company after Plato's dialogue on women's vanity - wherein a Greek man, Crizia, goes broke pissing away his fortune on beautiful women - because she hoped to find others like him. Her designs  reflect a witty irreverence, combining freedom of movement within a balanced style of dressing.  This dress reflects Krizia's artistic and sometimes architectural tilt. In a supple nylon/silk/rayon plissé stitched in a subtle rosette pattern, the fabric has a bit of stretch and sheen. The cut is straight with a rounded neckline, padded shoulder, invisible back zip closure and hidden snaps at the end of the sleeve. This marriage of fabric and cut results in a dress that is practical and easy to wear, but that also has a flow of movement on the body. Bust 38", waist 32", hip 36", sleeve 28", length 44". Excellent condition. $175
