No matter how jaded you may get in thinking that fashion is just a rehash of the same old thing, there is nothing like a piece of vintage hand dyed silk to serve as a smack across your face. Like wearing a Maui sunset on your body, the print is a gorgeous wash of mauve, watermelon, mango, peach, blush pink and a hint of indigo. No closures, it has a bound, scooped neckline and just slips on over your head. A casing with a silk drawstring at the waist gives the dress shape without disrupting the print. Full balloon sleeves are tightly gathered at the shoulder with an elasticized wrist. This kind of dress is the perfect travel partner - it works for both day and evening with just a change of accessories. Measurements are bust up to 40", waist to 38", hip to 54", shoulder 16", sleeve 24", length 47". Best on a modern size 6 to slender 10. There is a faint pen mark on the front bodice just above the tie, and some light water shadows near the hem (hell, it's tie dyed!) otherwise in excellent condition. $185
