1970s Krist Gudnason Jungle Print Smock Dress

Around for more than 75 years before closing their doors in 2001, Krist Gudnason was one of a handful of California clothing manufacturers who helped set the trend for casual California styles, steadily turning out little 'hippie' dresses in adorable prints and patterns. This smock dress has a homespun patchwork effect featuring a delightful jungle print of pale gray elephants and black and tan (and blue) spotted leopards amid jungle foliage in a mix of colors - dusty rose, pale purple, delft blue, teal green, tan, light brown and black.  The bodice is solid dusty rose, with a split V neckline, gathered just above of the bust, with forest green and dusty rose grosgrain trim. Deep set, pale purple sleeves have an ivory gusset and grosgrain trim under the arm. The dress has inseam pockets at either hip and is finished with a panel of dusty rose and green grosgrain trim at the hem. Bust to 38" shoulder seam to seam 14", sleeve 14.5", length 42".   Excellent condition.  $165
