1940s George Hess Brown Voile Dress

An early precursor to the whispy, angelic peasant styles of the 1970s, in a gossamer thin brown voile, this dress is as light as air and every bit as heavenly.  The sleeveless bodice features a double layered cape-like shoulder treatment that drapes over the upper arm.  Buttons in front to the waist, the skirt is knife pleated into the waist, making the skirt full and swingy.  Made by George Hess Originals, it has a side zipper closure. Bust measures 35", waist 25", shoulder 15", length 44" with 7" hem.  Excellent condition, with the exception of a tiny spot under the belt at the waist seam where the color has lifted.  $185
