1970s Adele Simpson Green Silk Dress |

This beautiful emerald green silk jacquard dress, designed by Adele Simpson, is cut in a sensual style that, to our eye at least, has a romantic, pseudo- Edwardian look - a little bit Biba, a little bit Ossie, and every bit as feminine as you might expect from a cross of the two. The bodice gathers into a wide fitted waist, then flares slightly from there at the skirt. It has a tapered batwing sleeve, which ends in a triple button barrel cuff. Buttons run from the stand-up collar to the hem, and are concealed beneath a placket except for the top button at the neck, a trio at the waistband and the sleeve cuff, all of which are self covered. Concealed inseam pockets sit at the hip. Bust measures up to 38", waist 28", hip 42" , sleeve (center back to cuff) 36", length 41". We're displaying it on a dress form with measurements of 36"- 27"-37" - a solid modern size 6. The last button at the hem has been removed, probably intentionally as it is concealed behind the placket and leaves a sexy little 6" vent at the front hem.$165
