1970s Halston Cashmere Tank Dress

Think about the sweater girl of the 1950s.  It was a look that guys obviously loved because of the way certain knits accentuate feminine assets.  Now fast forward a couple of decades to the free-wheeling, sex-loving 1970s, and you can understand why the cashmere sweater is even more appealing as a dress.  Halston understood that appeal perfectly, and turned out some magnificent cashmere dresses.  This one, in a mouth watering shade of mango, is simply styled - a sleeveless column of the softest cashmere with a ribbed neck and arm hole.  We love this worn the way the Halstonettes wore his cashmere - sans under garments for a  flawlessly smooth line - bearing in mind this was long before breast augmentation became a common grad gift for high school girls, and the fact that Halston designed clothes for women with real (ie, small) boobs. Knit from Scottish cashmere, this dress is in excellent condition.  Flat, unstretched measurements are: Bust 33", waist 29", hip 36", shoulder 13", length 49". Will accommodate up to a modern size 6. sold
