1980s Black Split Cowl Neck Cashmere Dress

Looking at this dress makes us wish for winter.  Chic and sophisticated in sumptuous and weighty black cashmere, this dress has a raglan shoulder with a deep cut sleeve and is accented with a row of working woven leather buttons that follow the shoulder seam from the base of the split cowl neck to under the  arm. The ribbed knit on the cowl neck and sleeve cuff is thick and substantial, and the hem is ribbed as well.  Also looks tops cinched in at the waist with a wide brown leather belt. Knit in Hong Kong for the now-defunct Bullocks department store, the top most button is not original but its a good match and is concealed beneath the collar in any case - otherwise the condition is excellent.  Flat, unstretched measurements are:  Bust 40", waist 38", hip 38",  sleeve 26", length 42". $225
