1980s Carolina Herrera Pink Linen Dress

We have a profound and somewhat intimidated admiration for Latin women. No doubt inspired years ago by one lady of Spain who looked the spitting image of Paloma Picasso. We once overheard another woman say to 'Paloma', "Your husband is very handsome, I'd keep an eye on him if I were you."  To which 'Paloma' hissed, "Hah, I am Spahn-eesh, I am not concerned with other women." What we wouldn't give for that supreme level of confidence! So it makes sense that our admiration for Carolina Herrera's designs is great. One of the breed of socialites who began designing clothes in the 1980s, Herrera designs for women like herself - cultured, elegant and feminine. This classically styled sheath illustrates the Herrera allure.  Mauve-pink linen is cut into a very lady-like design, with a strong, darted shoulder, a high v-neck, elbow length sleeves and a modified, darted empire waist seamed under the bust in front to low back behind. The the skirt of the dress has a faux kick pleat at either side front, accented with three decorative pink faceted buttons. Back zip closure and fully lined in pink silk. Aside from a very faint spot on the skirt near the front hem, the dress is in excellent condition.  Also carries a Saks Fifth Avenue label.  Bust, 40", waist 34", hip, 37", shoulder 16",  sleeve 18",  length 41". Oh yeah, incidentally, 'Paloma's' handsome hubby left her two years after that comment.  Humility often conquers haughtiness.$195
