There's a characteristic about linen that is very graceful and uptown. Some people avoid linen because of its inherent tendency to wrinkle. But take a linen dress like this one, and its' going to look great wrinkled or not. Natural colored midweight linen is cut in a straight sheath style with cute little capped sleeves. Embroidered ric-rac zig zags across the bodice, highlighted with an open work floral design running across the collarbone. The skirt is slim and tucks into the waist seam with tiny pleats, with invisible slit pockets at either front hip discretely concealed in the centermost pleat. The original belt is long gone, however, we think we've provided a pretty darned good replacement of grosgrain and ric rac. Made by Carlye for I.Magnin & Co., it has a zippered closure in the back, is unlined and in excellent condition. Bust measures 37", waist 27", hip 36", length 39". $175
