1950s Suzy Perette Silk Pansy Print Dress |

The Suzy Perette silhouette was famous for its faithful
adherence
to a style formula - fitted bodice, nipped-in waist
and flared hip. Sure, it may have been the same thing over and over
again, but hey, it really worked! This dress is a sensational example
of the Suzy Silhouette. Silk shantung in a soft pansy print in shades of blue
from lavender to sky blue to cobalt on an ivory ground. Sleeveless
styling has a deep vee neckline with a tucked shoulder, the dress is cut
slim through the bodice with that trademark nipped in waist, then
flares out to a full hip, and is accented at either hip bone with a pert
little bow. Its a demure and
feminine style that is still beautiful even 50 years
after its inception. Closes with a back zip. The silk flowers at
the décolleté appear to have been added later, but it makes a cute
little addition to the overall effect. Bodice has a paper lining.
Excellent condition. Bust measures 35", waist 24", hips
full, length 38".$195
